We have big hearts. That's part of why we chose this work. Our hearts want to serve the Lord and love His people well, but that same big heart that draws us into ministry is the one that gets weary from it.

We try so hard to stay soft and open to the hurts brought to our door. But if we're honest, staying compassionate isn't always easy. Carrying someone else's hurt - really carrying it - takes its toll.

Ministry can be such a joy. There are moments we watch God show up in ways that can carry us for months, sometimes years. But what about the harder seasons? What about the weeks when marriage after marriage feels like it's unraveling, when joy feels fleeting and bitterness, anger, or tears seem to have the final word? How do we keep showing up, offering love, wisdom, and encouragement, when our own shoulders feel so tired and discouraged?
